Hi, I'm Nicole.
Dance has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. For more than two decades, I've had the privilege of teaching dancers of different ages, backgrounds, and experience levels—from students taking their first steps into the studio to experienced dancers looking to refine their technique and artistry.
What I've learned is simple: there is no single “right” way to be a dancer. Great training starts with understanding the person in front of you—their goals, their body, their experience, and what makes them love to move.
From Ballet to Ballroom
My connection to movement began long before I became an instructor. My background spans ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, musical theatre, ballroom, choreography, and performance, including a BFA in Dance Performance. That foundation has given me the opportunity to train, perform, teach, and work with dancers at many different stages of their journey.
Over the years, I’ve learned that the best training isn’t necessarily the biggest class, the fastest progression, or the most complicated choreography. It’s the training that helps a dancer understand their own body, develop strong technique, and discover what they’re capable of.
I created Ballet Volusia to offer that kind of experience: personal, encouraging, and technically grounded instruction where adults can learn, return to dance, build confidence, or pursue new goals—without having to fit themselves into a traditional studio model or schedule.
